USG of TVS Pelvis- AFC is an ultrasound (sonography) examination performed by qualified radiologists/sonologists in the MedVocs network. Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves — with no radiation — to visualise organs, blood flow, and soft tissues in real time.

It is commonly used for abdominal, pelvic, thyroid, breast, scrotal, and musculoskeletal evaluations.

• Fast for 6–8 hours before an abdominal ultrasound for clear views of the gallbladder and pancreas (plain water is fine).
• Arrive with a comfortably full bladder — drink 3–4 glasses of water about an hour before and avoid emptying your bladder until the scan.
• Carry your doctor's note and any previous ultrasound reports for comparison.

   A water-based gel is applied to the skin and a handheld probe (transducer) is moved over the area — you may feel light pressure but no pain.

   Images and measurements are taken in real time; you may be asked to hold your breath or change position briefly.

   Most studies are completed within 15–30 minutes and you can resume all normal activities immediately.

Ultrasound findings are often discussed immediately after the scan, with the formal report issued the same day.

• Ultrasound has no radiation and no known harmful effects — it is safe in pregnancy and can be repeated as needed.
• Inadequate fasting or an empty bladder are the commonest reasons a scan must be repeated — follow the preparation closely.
• Results depend on operator visualisation; occasionally follow-up imaging is advised for confirmation.
